Section 279: Recovery, on subsequent development, of payments in respect of war-damaged land

279(1)

In relation to notices registered under section 57 of the Act of 1954 (which provided for the registration of notices of payments made under section 59 of the Act of 1947) the provisions of sections 159 and 160 of this Act shall have effect (subject to the following provisions of this section) as they have effect in relation to notices Registered under section 158 of this Act.

279(2)

The said provisions shall have effect as mentioned in subsection (1) of this section, but as if—

(a) any reference therein to the compensation specified in a notice were a reference to the payment so specified; and

(b) section 159 of this Act applied to every description of new development.

279(3)

No amount shall be recoverable by the Secretary of State by virtue of this section in respect of any land in relation to which an amount has become recoverable under section 258 of this Act.

279(4)

Subsection (5) of section 258 of this Act shall apply for the purposes of this section as it applies for the purposes of that section.
