In section 80(2) of the 1977 Act (which in certain circumstances prevents an application for a new registered rent for a dwelling-house which is the subect of a restricted contract from being made within 3 years of the date of an existing registration), for the words "3 years" there are substituted the words "2 years".

This section does not apply in any case where the date from which the period during which no application for registration can be made is to be calculated falls before the commencement of this section.
