If, after a direction has been given under any of the preceding provisions of this Chapter requiring that trade effluent shall not be discharged until a specified date, it appears to the sewerage undertaker in question that in consequence—
a later date ought to be substituted for the date so specified in the direction, the undertaker may apply to the Authority for such a substitution.
The Authority shall have power, on an application under subsection (1) above, to vary the direction so as to extend the period during which the trade effluent may not be discharged until the date specified in the application or, if it thinks fit, any earlier date.
Not less than one month before making an application under subsection (1) above a sewerage undertaker shall give notice of its intention to the owner and occupier of the trade premises from which the trade effluent is to be discharged.
The Authority, before varying a direction on an application under subsection (1) above, shall take into account any representations made to the Authority by the owner or occupier of the trade premises in question.
