Part III: Rights in relation to union membership and activities

References in sections 146 to 150 to being, becoming or ceasing to remain a member of a trade union include references to being, becoming or ceasing to remain a member of a particular branch or section of that union and to being, becoming or ceasing to remain a member of one of a number of particular branches or sections of that union . . . .

References in those sections—

to taking part in the activities of a trade union, and
to services made available by a trade union by virtue of membership of the union,

shall be construed in accordance with subsection (1).

In sections 146 to 150—

The remedy of a person for infringement of the right conferred on him by section 146 is by way of a complaint to an employment tribunal in accordance with this Part, and not otherwise.
