Part 1A: Arrangements with respect to local authority governance in England — CHAPTER 4: Changing governance arrangements

A local authority may not—

cease to operate a form of governance, or
vary executive arrangements,

other than in accordance with this Chapter.

In making a change in governance arrangements, the local authority must comply with any directions given by the Secretary of State in connection with the making of such a change.
