Section 34: Commencement

Part 3: General

The preceding provisions of this Act shall come into force in accordance with provision made by a Minister of the Crown by order.

But the following provisions of this Act shall come into force in accordance with provision made by the Scottish Ministers by order—

section 1(4) in so far as it relates to the Scottish Ministers,
sections 2(4) and (6), 3(2), 4(3) and (7), 5(2) and (5), 6(2) and (5), 8, 9(2), 11, 13(2), 14(2), 17(3) and (5), and
a provision of section 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 13 or 17 in so far as it relates to a provision specified in paragraph (b) above.

An order under subsection (1) or (2)—

may make provision generally or for specific purposes only,
may make different provision for different purposes,
may make incidental, consequential or transitional provision, and
shall be made by statutory instrument.
