Where a case of a notifiable disease occurs in a building in the occupation of any of His Majesty's forces, or of any person employed by or under the Admiralty, the Army Council, or the Air Council, it shall be the duty of the medical practitioner attending the patient to certify the case to the medical officer of health of the district, if it would have been his duty so to certify it had it occurred in a building in private occupation.

Unless the medical practitioner is a medical officer holding a commission in His Majesty's forces, the local authority shall pay to him for the certificate a fee of one shilling, whether the case occurs in his private practice or not.
