Regulation 16: Family mediation

Part 2: FORM OF CIVIL LEGAL SERVICES

“Family mediation” means the provision of any of the following civil legal services, in a family dispute—

an assessment by a mediator of whether, in the light of all the circumstances, a case is suitable for mediation; or
acting as a mediator.

In this regulation, “mediator” means a mediator with whom the Lord Chancellor has made an arrangement under section 2(1) of the Act (arrangements).
