Section 56: Provision of support by local authority

Part 3: Other Support and Assistance

Section 99 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (provision of support by local authority) shall be amended as follows.

In subsection (1)—

after "local authority" insert , and" or Northern Ireland authority "
at the end add ." or 98 "

For subsections (2) and (3) substitute—

In subsection (4)—

for "A local authority" substitute , and" An authority "
at the end add ." or 98 "

In subsection (5)—

for "a local authority" substitute , and" an authority "
in paragraph (b) for "bodies who are not local authorities" substitute ." other bodies "
